State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the Great Hall of the People on Sept 3.

China-Africa cooperation is a concrete practice of the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi Jinping, Wang said.

With unilateralism on the rise, China is willing to work together with the United Nations to maintain an international system that is based on rules and with the UN as its core, Wang added.

The United Nations attaches great importance to China’s constructive role in international affairs and is willing to work with China to abide by multilateralism and maintain a rules-based international order, Guterres said.
