State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Mohammed Sayala, foreign minister of the Government of National Accord of Libya, in Beijing on Sept 4.

Sayala was in Beijing for the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

During their talks, Wang said China is paying close attention to the Libyan situation, and supports its legitimate government. China calls on negotiations to solve the disputes and an instant cease-fire between the rival parties.

China expects Libya to carry on its political efforts to get on the right track at an early date. China is willing to take part in reconstructing Libya, the state councilor said.

Sayala expressed his gratitude for China’s support, saying his country is willing to discuss cooperation with China in reconstruction and to push forward Libya-China relations.
