China is willing to cooperate with Venezuela to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen political mutual trust and enrich people-to-people and cultural exchanges, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sept 14.
Wang made the remarks when he and visiting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro attended the closing ceremony of the 16th meeting of the China-Venezuelan High-Level Mixed Commission.
He hailed the success of the China-Venezuelan High-Level Mixed Commission and vowed to constantly enrich China-Venezuela comprehensive strategic partnership.
Wang also noted that the two sides should strive to open up new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation, taking the opportunity of Maduro’s visit and the joint building of the Belt and Road.
Maduro said that since the beginning of the 21st century, the two sides have explored a development path of win-win cooperation, and the practical cooperation between the two countries has formed a new multi-dimensional situation.
Venezuela is committed to elevating its comprehensive strategic partnership with China to a new height, further strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields, he noted.
Departments and companies from China and Venezuela have signed multiple cooperation agreements.
Maduro has been in China for a state visit from Sept 13 to 16 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. He was reelected for a second six-year term in the presidential election in May.
