China is willing to work with Tajikistan to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and push forward China-Tajikistan comprehensive strategic partnership, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

Wang made the remarks in a meeting with Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly on Sept 24.

China congratulates and supports Tajikistan in taking over the chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) next year and believes it will be a great success under the guidance of Tajikistan and the joint efforts of all parties.

Muhriddin said that Tajikistan always regards deepening ties with China as a diplomatic priority and that Tajikistan is looking forward to closer high-level exchanges between the two countries.

Tajikistan is ready to maintain close communication and coordination with China to fulfill the duty of the CICA’s chairmanship, he added.
