China’s narcotics control chief calls for public awareness

BEIJING — State Councilor Zhao Kezhi, also chief of the National Narcotics Control Commission, pledged to mobilize the public and raise their awareness to win the battle against drugs.

Zhao, attending an awareness event of narcotics control in Beijing on June 26, called on young people to take an active part in campaigns against narcotics and join volunteer programs to promote the country’s narcotics control policies and raise people’s awareness of the danger of drugs.

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking fell on June 26.
