Vice-premier Liu Yandong presented awards on behalf of the Chinese government to foreign experts whose work has promoted cultural exchanges between China and other countries.

She congratulated the experts who won the 8th Special Book Award of China at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Aug 26.

Liu said these experts have played a significant role in increasing understanding between China and the rest of the world - and the Chinese people also value their contribution.

Liu also said she hoped the experts would continue to support such cultural exchanges and will help to introduce more Chinese books that showcase China’s development in recent years.
