BEIJING — Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, joined a panel discussion with deputies to the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) from southwest China’s Yunnan province during the third session of the 12th NPC, in Beijing, March 12.
He encouraged the local government to gear up efforts to participate in the Belt and Road initiatives, and the development of Yangtze River Economic Belt.
The province should also take a leading role in promoting ethnic solidarity and ecological civilization and better cooperate with economies in south Asia and Southeast Asia, Zhang said.
