Vice-Premier Wang Yang called for joint efforts by Northeast Asian nations to promote trade and economic cooperation in the region.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 10th China-Northeast Asia Expo on Sept 1, Wang said the region has a solid foundation for more economic cooperation, given its large population and huge market potential, and the countries’ economies are complementary.
He noted the desire of enterprises to increase communication, with the mutual interests of nations in the region increasing amid the complicated global economic situation.
Efforts should be made to accelerate cross-border infrastructure construction, and discuss various kinds of preferential trade arrangements in the region, the vice-premier said.
