Vice-Premier Wang Yang emphasized the importance of modernizing the agricultural industry during an inspection tour of Jilin province from Aug 31 to Sept 1.

The vice-premier noted that innovation, and an improvement in technology and the production environment are vital ingredients of a more modern sector as well as incorporating other industries.

He also stressed that farmers should play a big role and be incorporated into the development of modern agriculture by taking part in large-scale agribusinesses and cooperating with leading local enterprises.
