Vice-Premier Wang Yang held talks with Russian counterpart Dmitry Rogozin in Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on Oct 11, pledging to boost pragmatic cooperation.

Wang, Chinese chairperson of the Joint Commission for the Regular Prime Ministers’ Meetings of China and Russia, said China is willing to make joint efforts with Russia to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries.

The China-Russia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has developed extensively, Wang said, calling on the two sides to make preparations for the next round of regular meetings between the Chinese and Russian prime ministers later this year.

China stands ready to integrate the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative with Russia’s development strategy, Wang said, noting that the two countries will focus on promoting large-scale cooperation on aerospace, nuclear energy, civil aviation and cross-border transportation projects.

Rogozin said Russia attaches importance to strengthening pragmatic cooperation with China and is willing to provide a more open policy for bilateral cooperation.

Wang and Rogozin also attended the opening ceremony of the second China-Russia Exposition on Oct 11 in Harbin, vowing to make the event an important platform for pragmatic cooperation.

The first China-Russia Exposition ended in July 2014 in Harbin with contracts worth $3.15 billion signed. The third expo will be held in Russia.
