Vice-Premier Wang Yang on Dec 15 urged stepping up the development of e-commerce and constructing a modern circulation network in rural areas.
He was inspecting a national agricultural e-commerce platform constructed by the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives in Beijing.
The vice-premier said that rural market entities of e-commerce should be actively cultivated and expanded, and development of a modern rural circulation and service network for commodities should be accelerated.
He called on the federation to make full use of e-commerce platforms to promote sales, processing and storage of agricultural products, and speed up the informatization reform of existing circulation systems to create a modern circulation network that integrates online and offline businesses.
Support policies should be improved and innovation of rural e-commerce models should be encouraged to provide a favorable market environment for the development of e-commerce in rural areas, said the vice-premier.
