Vice-Premier Liu Yandong said she will work with her Russian counterpart to ensure the continuation of the role of the China-Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation in enhancing people-to-people cooperation between the two countries.
Liu, a co-chairwoman of the committee, made the comments when meeting with Deputy Russian Prime Minister Olga Golodets, also co-chairwoman, in Beijing on Dec 17.
Right now the China-Russian relationship is at its best in history, Liu said and added she is ready to work with Golodets to have the committee host the China-Russia Media Exchange Year, which will start in 2016.
People-to-people cooperation is a solid foundation for the bilateral relationship, said Golodets, adding that she is looking forward to work with Liu to harvest the fruits of bilateral people-to-people cooperation.
