Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli joined a group deliberation of deputies from Tianjin to the annual session of the National People’s Congress on March 6 in Beijing.

The vice-premier asked the deputies to follow the instructions of the Party’s leadership and implement plans outlined in the government work report.

He said issues such as overcapacity, destocking, deleveraging and reducing corporate costs should be given attention.

He also called on the deputies to do more to foster new growth drivers and prevent systemic and regional risks, and improve people’s livelihoods.

“Tianjin should aim for a stronger economy through supply-side structural reform,” he said.
