China will work with the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNAIDS to improve healthcare standards in developing countries, Vice-Premier Liu Yandong said on July 28.

Liu made the remarks when meeting with WHO director-general Margaret Chan and UN under-secretary-general and executive director of UNAIDS Michel Sidibe.

Liu applauded the cooperation between China, the WHO and UNAIDS in health care and their HIV/AIDS work, saying China was ready to cooperate more with the two organizations to support medical reform in China.

Chan and Sidibe were upbeat about working closely with China to enhance South-to-South cooperation in health care and help developing countries reach the health-related United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda goals.
