Vice-Premier Liu Yandong urged more efforts in tech innovation and healthcare reform for the development of old revolutionary base areas and central regions, during her recent inspection to Jiangxi province.
Liu delivered her greetings to people and volunteer medical specialists in Ruijin, calling for concrete measures to give such areas partner assistance and targeted poverty alleviation.
In Nanchang, Ganzhou, Ruijin and Fuzhou, Liu stressed the importance of improving grassroots healthcare services, tapping traditional Chinese medicine’s advantages, and promoting mass fitness by establishing healthy cities and towns.
She said local regions should increase medical reforms, expand tried-and-true practices to other places for joint reform of public health services, medical insurance and medical production-circulation, and try to make breakthroughs in areas such as the medical system, modern hospital management, payment settlement and drug supply.
Personnel cultivation and tech innovation are key to reviving old revolutionary base areas by upgrading traditional sectors and promoting integrated development of new technologies, new industries, new businesses, and new mechanisms, said the vice-premier while visiting local colleges and vocational schools.
She urged increasing investment in innovation-driven development, transformation of sci-tech achievements, and cultivation of innovative talent and qualified technicians.
