E-commerce is not only the key but an innovative solution to targeted poverty relief, Vice-Premier Wang Yang said on Sept 15 at a conference focused on targeted poverty relief efforts via the promotion of e-commerce in rural areas, held in Guiyang, Southwest China’s Guizhou province.
Wang spoke highly of the positive progress made in terms of poverty alleviation, while calling for more innovative measures to enhance such efforts.
He urged related departments issue more supportive policies, strengthen infrastructure construction and enhance brand building, so as to better establish a green channel for online agricultural product sales and create a favorable environment for talents.
“Proper guidance should be provided to encourage more impoverished people involved in the e-commerce industry,” Wang added.
