Wang Yang joined the delegation of Sichuan province to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to discuss the report delivered by Xi Jinping at the opening session in Beijing.

Wang said that Xi’s report explains the guiding principle of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, answers the question of what kind of socialism with Chinese characteristics should be upheld and developed, and how to realize the mission. He said that the report provides a scientific action guide and strong spiritual power toward the realization of national rejuvenation and the Chinese dream.

At the new starting point, China is facing opportunities, risks and challenges, Wang said. To overcome difficulties, we should keep up with the CPC Central Committee with Xi as the core, he said. We should always be prepared for the unexpected, and stick to problem-solving, reform and innovation to open a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
