Vice-Premier Liu Yandong stressed that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era should be the guide to promote an all-round development of social causes. She made the remarks during her inspection in Sichuan province.

Liu emphasized during her visit to Sichuan University that talent training modes should be innovated, and innovation and entrepreneurship themselves should be enhanced. She asked to deepen education reform, enhance construction of courses and teaching teams and improve the overall quality of education.

When visiting Chengdu Science City and technology enterprises, Liu pointed out that innovation resources should be fully used, and a more open talent policy should be implemented.

During her inspection of public hospitals and medical equipment companies, Liu stressed deepening the comprehensive reform of public hospitals and improving the administration systems of modern hospitals. Scientific research and achievement transformations should be strengthened in medical equipment manufacturing, to meet the rising health demands of the public.

The vice-premier also visited Sichuan Television, the Sichuan Provincial Library, and news publishing and broadcasting industry outlets. She stressed communication methods should be innovated, and traditional and new media should be integrated. Public culture service systems should be improved and the development of public libraries should be promoted, she said.
