Vice-Premier Liu Yandong pressed for helping people out of poverty with substantial efficiency and fully developing education, technologies, culture, and medication, during an inspection tour in North China’s Shanxi province, Xinhua reported on Jan 20.

After affirming the progress made in streamlining local medical systems, Liu said that Internet Plus, remote treatments, and other technologies and operational strategies can also be integrated into basic medical services.

On a trip to a local school, Liu said that an equal allocation of education resources, including facilities and academics, is a necessity to upgrade schools in areas near impoverished communities and ethnic groups.

Liu also said that middle and west regions, with professionals, technologies, markets, and other elements in coordination, should make efforts to achieve high-quality development based on the integration of innovation and opening-up.
