Vice-premier presses for all-around development of education reform

Vice-Premier Liu Yandong called for massive improvements in educational development in an article in Qiushi Journal.

The vice-premier affirmed the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), at which Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era set the course for construction of a socialist modern China.

Ground-breaking achievements in educational undertakings, attained since the 18th CPC National Congress, set the path for further improvements, said Liu.

With the educational guidelines of CPC fully implemented, China’s school enrollment rate saw a substantial increase. Meanwhile, steady improvements in the quality of education led to the all-around development of adolescence.

Additionally, advancements in education equality, integrated reform of the educational system, educational support system, and many other regards all paved the way for further educational improvements.

It was emphasized in the report to the 19th CPC National Congress that a powerful education is the foundation of the resurrection of the Chinese people, and President Xi also prioritized education in the overall development of China, said Liu.

According to the 19th CPC National Congress, China’s education should be based on the new era in accordance with the ever-changing circumstances.

Persistence in adhering to the educational guidance of the CPC, further improvements in talent cultivation and social services, diversity and high quality, and international cooperation are integral components of the drive for further educational development, said Liu.

Liu said that China’s education should stick to the course guided by the ethos of the 19th CPC National Congress, promote equality and quality, step up innovation and reform, cultivate professional educators, and improve educational support.
