TIANJIN — Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua on June 7 called for building pilot free trade zones with high standard and quality to explore new methods and accumulate new experiences for expanding reform in all areas and furthering opening-up.

Hu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during an inspection tour to Tianjin to gain the firsthand information about construction of pilot free trade zones.

In Tianjin, Hu visited places including the Bureau for Administrative Approval of Binhai New Area.

In construction of pilot free trade zones, Hu stressed it’s important to uphold the principle of institutional innovation and focus on solving problems, with advanced international rules in mind.

China rolled out plans last month to deepen the reforms of the pilot free trade zones in Tianjin municipality, Guangdong and Fujian provinces in its latest efforts to promote reform and opening-up.

Tianjin pilot free trade zone will form a legalized, internationalized and convenient business environment, build an open economic system and a demonstration zone for coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei by 2020.
