Vice-premier, Burkina Faso president exchange views on enhancing ties

OUAGADOUGOU — Visiting Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua met with Burkina Faso President Roch Marc Christian Kabore in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso on July 12.

Hu conveyed to Kabore greetings and good wishes from President Xi Jinping.

Hu also conveyed to Kabore an invitation from Xi to participate in the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation scheduled for September.

Hu said that Xi pays high attention to the development of relations between China and Burkina Faso. This visit aims to deepen understandings and friendship, and lay a solid foundation for the comprehensive promotion of the friendly relations and cooperation in all areas, Hu said.

Highlighting the decision made by Burkina Faso to re-establish diplomatic relationship with China, Hu said China is willing to work with Burkina Faso to deepen political mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation, and boost the stable, healthy development of relationship of the two countries.

Kabore asked Hu to relay his greetings and good wishes to Xi, and said that re-establishment of the diplomatic relationship with China has opened up new prospects for the two countries.

Hu also met with Prime Minister of Burkina Faso Paul Kaba Thieba on July 12, and exchanged views on strengthening ties.

After the meeting, Hu and Thieba attended the opening ceremony of the Chinese embassy and a signing ceremony of documents on cooperation.
