BEIJING — Vice-Premier Liu He met with members of the international advisory committee of China Investment Corporation (CIC) in Beijing on Aug 28, expressing confidence in the Chinese economy.
Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China’s per capita GDP is approaching $10,000, a large domestic market is taking shape, and the prospects of the Chinese economy are very bright.
No matter how the international environment changes, China will firmly promote reform and opening-up, unwaveringly safeguard economic globalization and the multilateral trade system, and stand firm on the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, Liu said.
Members of the committee said unilateralism and trade protectionism are the largest uncertainties facing the world economy and may lead to catastrophic outcomes.
They suggested that China should further its reform and opening-up, and play a more important role in the multilateral trade system.
