A delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, headed by Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan, traveled to Wuzhong city, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, to extend congratulations to the region’s 60th anniversary on Sept 21.
Sun, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, came to a clinic in Honghai village. She spoke with doctors there, saying they are the closest “guardians” for villagers’ health, so the team of village doctors should be well-staffed to safeguard the rural healthcare system.
At a demonstration breeding base for cattle, Sun pointed out the importance of new business models, such as Internet Plus, to increase the competency of the agricultural industry and eliminate poverty.
Then, Sun went to visit a poverty-stricken household, where she inquired about their work and living situation after relocation as well as their children’s education. In the end, she wished them well and urged relevant authorities to enhance efforts in poverty alleviation in terms of education and healthcare, to ensure the whole country can comprehensively achieve a well-off society at the same pace.
In the afternoon, the vice-premier visited a vocational school to understand the situation for local vocational education, calling for efforts to help more ethnic and impoverished students learn skills through vocational education. At Wuzhong Instrument Co Ltd, Sun expressed hopes that the company could make breakthroughs in core technology and high-end manufacturing. During her stay in Yongchang residential community of Shengli town, she asked grassroots organizations to improve services and management levels to enhance ethnic unity work.
Sun also met representatives from all walks of life in Wuzhong city and attended a symposium celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, urging the acceleration of economic transformation, improvements in people’s livelihoods, and strengthening of ethnic unity.
