Vice-premier meets Hong Kong trade union delegation

BEIJING — Vice-Premier Han Zheng met with a visiting delegation of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions on Sept 29 in Beijing.

Han, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, congratulated the federation on the 70th anniversary of its founding.

He spoke highly of the federation for playing an important role in uniting Hong Kong people of all walks of life, safeguarding and fighting for labor rights and interests, supporting the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government to administrate the region according to law, and maintaining prosperity and stability in Hong Kong.

Han expressed his hope that the federation would promote the implementation of the “one country, two systems” principle steadily in the long term, strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and the mainland, and help Hong Kong to integrate its own development into the overall development of the country.
