Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua met with guests from the United Kingdom and Argentina, who are in China for the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, on April 25.
The guests were British Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond, who is the special envoy of the British prime minister, and Argentina’s Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie and Minister of Agro-Industry Luis Etchevehere.
While meeting with Hammond, Hu said China attaches great importance to economic and trade cooperation between China and the UK, and he hopes the two countries will work together to fulfill the consensus reached between leaders of the two countries, and further enhance cooperation in trade investment, big projects, technology, agriculture and finance.
Hammond said the British side will actively create conditions to deepen pragmatic cooperation with China. Both agreed to hold a new round of Economic and Financial Dialogue.
Hu extended his welcome to the Argentina guests, and both sides exchanged views on jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening pragmatic cooperation in fields such as agriculture.
