Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua delivered a speech while attending the opening ceremony of the Expo Central China 2019 in Nanchang, capital of East China’s Jiangxi province, on May 18.
Hu said he highly values the geographical advantages and sound industrial foundations of the central region.
Ever since the implementation of the national strategy to foster the central region, the local economic drivers have been on the rise.
In the meantime, emerging industries have been forging ahead, people’s well-being has been constantly improving, and reform and opening-up have made momentous achievements.
The government has been taking active action in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, laying the groundwork for significant infrastructure projects, speeding up the industrial restructuring and upgrading, and improving the business environment, Hu said.
All parties involved are more than welcome to make the most of Expo Central China 2019 to realize more mutual benefit and win-win results, Hu said.
China will remain a stickler for reform and opening-up to improve the environment for trade and investment, and dedicate itself to creating a level playing field for foreign enterprises.
Hu met the visiting Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somdy Douangdy prior to the opening ceremony and presided over a symposium centered on foreign-invested enterprises.
