BEIJING — China had 60,738 Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) medical institutions by the end of 2018, an increase of 6,495 from the previous year, according to the National Health Commission (NHC).
With a capacity of 1.23 million beds, the institutions offered TCM treatment for 1.07 billion patients last year, the NHC said in its statistical report on development of the nation’s medical and healthcare sector in 2018.
The country saw a growing number of TCM medical practitioners in 2018, with the total number rising by 7.7 percent to 715,000.
