Chinese mainland reports 13 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

BEIJING — Chinese health authority said on June 26 it received reports of 13 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on June 25, including 11 domestically transmitted and two imported ones.

All the 11 domestically transmitted cases were reported in Beijing, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

No deaths related to the disease were reported on June 25, according to the commission.

As of June 25, the overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 83,462, including 389 patients who were still being treated, with eight in severe condition.

Altogether 78,439 people had been discharged from hospitals after recovery and 4,634 people had died of the disease, the commission said.

By June 25, the Chinese mainland had reported a total of 1,895 imported cases. Of the cases, 1,811 had been discharged after recovery, and 84 remained hospitalized, including one in severe condition. No deaths from the imported cases had been reported.

The commission said three new suspected cases were reported in Beijing Thursday, bringing the total suspected cases to 10 in the country.

According to the commission, 8,044 close contacts were still under medical observation after 625 people were discharged from medical observation Thursday.

Five new asymptomatic cases, including four imported, were reported on the mainland Thursday, it said, adding that one asymptomatic case was re-categorized as a confirmed case.

The commission said 97 asymptomatic cases, including 57 imported, were still under medical observation.

By June 25, 1,193 confirmed cases including seven deaths had been reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), 46 confirmed cases in the Macao SAR, and 447 in Taiwan including seven deaths.

A total of 1,088 patients in the Hong Kong SAR, 45 in the Macao SAR, and 435 in Taiwan had been discharged from hospitals after recovery.
