BEIJING — The National Health Commission said on Aug 25 that 36 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on Aug 24.

There were 386 patients still being treated, including 10 in severe condition, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 79,961 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Aug 24, the report said.

As of Aug 24, a total of 84,981 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
