BEIJING — The National Health Commission said on Aug 26 that 54 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland Aug 25.

There were 347 patients still being treated, including seven in severe condition, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 80,015 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Aug 25, the report said.

As of Aug 25, a total of 84,996 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
