BEIJING — The National Health Commission said on Sept 25 that nine COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on Sept 24.

There were 166 patients still being treated, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 80,522 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Sept 24, the report said.

As of Sept 24, a total of 85,322 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
