BEIJING — The National Health Commission said on Sept 27 that five COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on Sept 26. 

There were 176 patients still being treated, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 80,541 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Sept 26, the report said.

As of Sept 26, a total of 85,351 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
