BEIJING — The National Health Commission said on Sept 30 that 12 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland Sept 29.

There were 191 patients still being treated, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 80,578 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Sept 29, the report said.

As of Sept 29, a total of 85,403 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 died of the disease.
