On Oct 8, State Councilor and Defense Minister Chang Wanquan exchanged views with his Mongolian counterpart on cooperation between the Chinese and Mongolian militaries and regional and international issues of common concern.

The Chinese military is willing to work with Mongolia to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, Chang said during his talks with Mongolian Defense Minister Tserendash Tsolmon in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

China hopes to continue high-level military contacts, strengthen strategic communication and coordination, promote pragmatic cooperation in the fields of personnel training, joint military exercises, international peacekeeping and military technology, and enhance mutual trust and friendship, said Chang.

China is an important neighboring country to Mongolia and Mongolia puts much emphasis on Sino-Mongolian relations and adheres to the one-China principle, the Mongolian defense minister said. Mongolia supports China’s efforts in safeguarding regional peace and stability, he added.
