State Councilor Wang Yong presided over a special meeting on Dec 22, which laid out follow-up plans for the rescue work, care-taking arrangement and investigation of the cause of the massive landslide that hit an industrial park in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on Dec 20.
Wang urged relevant departments to spare no efforts in the rescue work, especially in verifying and searching missing people.
“We should deploy the best medical resources for the injured, resettle those displaced, and investigate the cause as soon as possible,” he said.
At the scene of the disaster, Wang visited policemen, firefighters and plumbers that are involved in the rescue work. He told the rescue team to do their best while paying attention to their own safety.
As of Dec 22, 76 people were still missing with 16 sustaining injuries.
