State Councilor Wang Yong visited the China Rehabilitation Research Center for Deaf Children and China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe on May 14, just before the 26th National Disabled Person’s Day on May 15.
Wang greeted parents of the hearing impaired children, rehabilitation tutors and disabled performers. He stressed that society should care more about disabled children and provide more and better rehabilitation services to help them realize their dreams.
Wang listened to a work report at the rehabilitation research center and watched a performance by the troupe.
The state councilor pointed out that rehabilitation work with disabled children can help to reduce hazards they face and improve their living conditions. An assistance system should be established and the service system improved.
Wang also asked governments at every level to enhance support for grassroots rehabilitation institutions to bring more benefits to disabled people.
