State Councilor and Defense Minister Chang Wanquan met Finnish Defense Minister Jussi Niinisto in Beijing on Sept 5.

As good friends and partners, China and Finland have set an example of cooperation between countries with different national conditions and social systems, said Chang.

In recent years, the two nations have seen active high-level military contact, with increasing professional exchanges and personnel communication in all fields and levels. China is willing to maintain high-level military exchanges with Finland to expand relations, said Chang.

China is an important partner of Finland, with great potential in military cooperation. Finland will continue to strengthen personnel training and drills with China, said Niinisto.
