State Councilor Wang Yong attended the inauguration ceremony of the new State Administration for Market Regulation and the State Drug Administration in Beijing on April 10, stressing the importance and urgency of reform in market supervision institutions.

Establishing the two administrations is part of the country’s major decisions this year. He urged the administrations to deepen all-around reform in market regulation, advance business registration, strengthen protection on intellectual property, and inspire the vitality of all kinds of market entities.

He also called for seriously cracking down on quality and safety violations, increasing the safety level of industrial products, food and drugs and special equipment, in order to ensure the quality of products circulating in the market.
