State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi went on an inspection tour related to security work in Central China’s Henan province from Oct 3 to 5, during the National Day holiday.

Zhao encouraged the local security staff to carry out security work with due diligence, calling for conscientiousness and selflessness to protect national security during the seven-day holiday.

In Zhengzhou and Nanyang cities, Zhao went to grassroots-level public security organs, enterprises and neighborhoods to visit policemen and auxiliary police, requiring them to enhance patrols and the rapid response mechanism. An emergency management plan must be perfected, he said.

The state councilor warned of risks from violence and terrorism, and stressed the importance of ethnic unity. He also urged efforts to involve the public in maintaining social security.
