Vice-premier meets Swedish guests

BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Vice-Premier Liu Yandong met with a group of Swedish guests headed by Anders Hamsten, vice-chancellor of the prestigious Karolinska Institute, on Oct 23.

Lauding the medical university’s great achievement in medical education and research, Liu said she looks forward to more exchanges and cooperation between Karolinska Institute and Chinese universities and research institutes to contribute more to the development of China-Sweden friendship as well as the health of all human beings.

During the meeting, Liu also briefed the guests on the fourth plenary session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the situation of China’s education and public health sectors.

The fourth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, which ended on Oct 23, focused on comprehensively advancing the rule of law in China.
