Reform and opening up should be promoted in Central China to make the region distinctive and developed, Vice-Premier Wang Yang said on May 18 when delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of a trade expo in Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei province.

Wang noted the achievements made in the region and stressed that efforts should continue to be made for development. He said that the expo focuses on investment and trade cooperation, and plays the role of a platform to promote the region.

Wang later met with Mohamed Gharib Bilal, vice-president of Tanzania, and Chui Sai On, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
