China is willing to work with Russia to enhance investment cooperation in resources, manufacturing and agriculture in the Far East, Vice-Premier Wang Yang said.

Wang made the remarks on Sept 4 during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Vladivostok on the sidelines of the first Eastern Economic Forum.

As head of the Chinese delegation, made up of high-level government representatives and senior entrepreneurs, Wang said: “China has attached great importance in term of promoting cooperation with Russia in the Far East in areas such as resources, manufacturing, agriculture, logistics and infrastructure”.

Wang said Putin’s meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will inject a new dynamic to bilateral relations. Putin was in Beijing to attend activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War on Sept 3.

Putin said the Far East, with great development prospects, calls for proactive cooperation between the two countries to bring more benefits to the people.
