A conference on veterans affairs was held in Shijiazhuang, capital of North China’s Hebei province, from June 30 to July 1.

Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan, Guo Shengkun, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, and State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi attended the conference.

Representatives from Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong and other provincial regions shared their practices on improving services for veterans.

The conference called on veterans’ interests to be protected in compliance with policies, building a better service system covering assistance in job seeking, business startups, education, training and economic difficulties.

Ensuring the rights of soldiers is a move to hail their sacrifices and contributions to the country, and to make it a respected profession, the conference stressed.
