BEIJING — Vice-Premier Han Zheng met with Guinea-Bissau’s President Jose Mario Vaz on Sept 5 after the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Han said China is willing to continue to support Guinea-Bissau’s economic and social development within its ability, enhance exchange and cooperation between the two countries, and promote bilateral relations to a new level.

Calling the summit a historic event, Han said China is ready to work with Guinea-Bissau to better apply the fruitful results of the summit into benefiting the people of the western African country.

Vaz spoke highly of the fruitful results of the summit and the new cooperative measures President Xi Jinping has announced.

Vaz said Guinea-Bissau firmly upholds the one-China principle and is willing to strengthen practical cooperation with China in agriculture and on sub-national levels, so as to further develop bilateral ties as well as Africa-China relations.
