Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua stressed the importance of stable employment while attending a symposium on employment in Beijing on Sept 17.
Problems portended by small clues, trends and tendencies are emerging under a generally stable employment situation, and their seriousness and complexity must not be taken lightly, Hu said.
It is necessary to take precautions, strengthen security measures and respond effectively to enhance confidence of enterprises and the whole society with practical actions, he added.
Local governments should take the initiative to develop comprehensive measures for stable employment, like stabilizing existing jobs, creating jobs through innovation and entrepreneurship, providing employment assistance and services to ensure basic employment as well as a harmonious and stable society, Hu said.
The vice-premier also urged relevant departments to follow the changing situation, strengthen macro controls and enhance policy support, making positive contributions to stable employment.
