The fourth meeting of the organizing committee for the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition was held in Beijing on Feb 19.
Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua presided over and addressed the meeting.
He urged good preparations to make the exposition a uniquely Chinese world-class event.
The exposition is an important part of this year’s diplomatic activities at home, which is of great political and diplomatic significance, he stressed.
For such a major comprehensive project with a large scale, long duration, a large number of exhibitors, and abundant supporting activities, preparation and operation are very arduous, he added.
Noting preparations have entered a critical stage, he urged all departments to strengthen coordination as scheduled and fully prepare for major events like the opening ceremony.
Meanwhile, work should be done to ensure security measures and on-time construction of supporting facilities in and around the park.
The exhibition layout must be completed with high standards, and activities during the event must be carefully arranged, Hu said, urging optimized operational services and news promotion.
Hu also made an on-site inspection of the preparation before the meeting on Feb 15.
