Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua called for more efforts in clearing and tackling greenhouses that violate related regulations and laws at a teleconference on that issue.

Hu said that nonagricultural facilities built on farmlands, especially on designated permanent basic croplands, should be removed, and illegal activities that change the usage of farmlands should be cracked down on.

In addition, intensified work should be made to regulate houses and agricultural facilities that are directly used in agricultural production, Hu added.

Provincial governments have the responsibility for clearing illegal greenhouses, while related central departments need to strengthen guidance and supervision.
