Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan reviewed and discussed the Government Work Report with the delegation from Jilin province, on the sidelines of the second session of the 13th National People’s Congress on March 5.
The report is in compliance with people’s concerns and expectations, down to earth and inspiring, Sun said. To implement the report, each level of government should pursue progress in stability while promoting a high-quality development mode.
The vice-premier said improvements in people’s livelihood underpinned economic development, so social policies should keep pace with economic ones.
She called on local governments to implement the developing strategy of education first, deepen reform in the healthcare system, expedite the development of elderly care, sports and other public undertakings.
Better performance should be achieved to embrace the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, she said.
