Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua on March 20 attended the United Nations high-level conference on South-South Cooperation in Buenos Aires.
Hu said China firmly supports multilateralism and the multilateral mechanism with UN at the core, and strongly safeguards the basic rules of South-South Cooperation — respect for sovereignty, equality and mutual benefit, and noninterference in others’ internal affairs.
A consensus is expected to be reached to build a solid foundation for carrying out the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, he added.
He also said China is a staunch supporter, active participant and prominent contributor of the South-South Cooperation. As a common course for developing countries, efforts should be intensified to expand cooperation areas and to innovate ways to cooperate.
In addition, China will continue to undertake international responsibilities that are commensurate with its development stage and capabilities, and work with other countries to build a community with a shared future for all mankind.
During the conference, Hu also met with Achim Steiner, administrator of the United Nations Development Programme.
